Maintenance Assistant – Full Time Ongoing Role

The Maintenance Assistant works as part of the School’s Maintenance Team to assist with the day to day maintenance of the School buildings, grounds and gardens as well as a broad range of other tasks as directed. The Maintenance Assistant is required to ensure that the School’s buildings, gardens and grounds are maintained in a neat, tidy, safe and hygienic manner at all times.          It is expected that in all dealings with the School community, including staff, students, parents, contractors and suppliers as a highly professional, friendly and responsive attitude reflecting the high quality service to be provided by the Property and Services Department.Specific ResponsibilitiesCompletion of proactive and reactive maintenance of School gardens, grounds and buildings a timely mannerPerform works according to an agreed daily scheduleEnsure all works are delivered within agreed timelines, budget and quality standardsComply with relevant statutory regulations such as Occupational Health and Safety and ensure all works are performed to best practice OHS standardsUndertake maintenance task and works and support other members of the team as requiredFunction set ups for School functions onsite and offsiteCoordinate the set up for School functions on site and off siteMaintain Occupational Health and Safety Standards on campusAssist in the holiday works programs to upgrade facilities and grounds ConditionsLeave:                                     4 Weeks Annual LeaveNominal Hours of Work:         7:30am – 3:30pm, with a 30 minute lunch break Key Selection CriteriaPrevious experience in a general maintenance/handyman role is essential.
