Senior School Psychologist – Full Time and Part Time Options – Ongoing Role

Senior School Psychologist Commencing Term 1, 2022St Catherine’s School, Toorak, is one of Australia’s leading independent girls’ schools, fostering students’ curiosity, perseverance, integrity, empathy and gratitude.There is a vacancy for 2022 for an experienced Psychologist for our senior school students years 7 to 12.The Psychologist for the Senior School is responsible for the provision of counselling support to students to support their psychological, emotional and physical wellbeing.They will work closely with Support staff to support the students, staff and their families. The Psychologist is involved in the development and implementation of programs and policies that foster resilience in students and will be integral in the provision of psychological support in response to crisis management needs and consultancy to teaching staff regarding ongoing student wellbeing concerns.To be successful to interview, you will need to demonstrate the following:Experience within the school education sector - this will be of significant advantageBe fully registered as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia,Eligibile for membership of the Australian Psychological SocietyPossess relevant Psychology QualificationsThe ability to conduct specialist assessments of cognitive, emotional and behavioural needsBe able to work effectively with students and their families and apply a range of interventions appropriate for different issues and group interventionsBe cognisant of ethical, legal issues, e.g. confidentiality, informed consent, referral pathways, case note documentation and securityDeep understanding of current Child Safety legislationBe willing to work with the School Leadership team and learning support staffPossess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents and staffPrevious experience in Crisis ManagementTo find out more about this role, including a position description and selection criteria and to apply, please visit our website: www.stcatherines.net.au/staff  addressing the above criteria within your cover letter and resume to the Principal.Inquiries can be directed to our HR Manager, Jasmine Taylor via jtaylor@stcatherines.net.auApplications close 5pm Friday 5th November 2021St Catherine’s School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children by providing a child safe environment.
